Looking to get a handle on "Web 2.0" and social media stuff? Need more web traffic?
"Social Media Daily" teaches you how to use Web 2.0 and social media to drive traffic to your website in an easy to implement step-by-step format. FREE!
The thing I love about this is that you can easily outsource most of it for just a few bucks. Definitely take a look.
So you have finally found a profitable niche, after hours of research and you’ve created a content based website for it. Or maybe you’ve worked a couple of weeks to create the ultimate e-book or report, have spent hundreds of dollars on graphic design and thousands on a killer sales letter.
You’ve clearly done your homework and have developed a small online business with high potential for great success. The only problem is, no matter how good the sales letter, the graphics or content, you won’t make a cent if potential customers never get to see your website.
Here are 3 proven steps on promoting your high quality website for instant targeted traffic:
1. Pay Per Click Advertising
This is without doubt the fastest way to get your site in front of thousands of potential customers. While most people use only Google Adwords it would be wise not to ignore Yahoo’s Search Marketing or MSN’s adCenter. Many internet marketers make this mistake and miss out on tons of top quality, low cost traffic.
If you don’t have a lot of experience with PPC you should read as much as you can on the subject before spending money. This type of advertising is very powerful, but if done incorrectly can lose you a lot of money. Read many articles on article directories such as ezinearticles.com and also do a search on Google for “perry marshall adwords” to learn more about PPC.
While doing PPC you will generate opt-ins, sales and even affiliates from your site – this is extremely valuable information so make sure you gather it.
2. Solo Ads
When you have a top quality site, with good conversion rates, buying a solo ad can be the easiest way for instant profit.
A solo ad is an email ad that you write (or hire someone to write it for you) and pay a webmaster with a highly developed subscriber list in your niche, a one time fee to send the ad to the entire list.
This is why it’s very important to have conversion data. Let’s say that after Step1, you realized your site has a conversion rate of 5%. This means that if you buy a solo ad for a list with 2000 subscribers, you’ll make somewhere around 100 sales. Depending on the price of your product, you can make a very nice profit with practically no extra work on your part.
To find places where to run solo ads, just use Google and search for “solo ads”, “buy solo ads” or “yourniche + solo ads”.
You can also search for sites in your niche that appear in top spots on Google, Yahoo and MSN and have an opt-in form. Contact the webmasters show them your product and offer to pay them in exchange for a solo ad.
3. JV Partners
We’ve practically started to talk about finding JV partners at the end of step2, but in step 3 we’re going to go even further with our proposal.
While solo ads are a great way for generating instant cash, wouldn’t it be great if those webmasters would keep promoting your product on their site and to their list on a regular basis? And with no extra effort or cash spent on your part?
It may sound too good to be true but actually it’s very achievable. After you run a few solo ads on different lists you should update your conversion information. Be sure to make a small report about this because you’ll need it.
All you have to do now is to approach the same or different webmasters and ask them if they’d like to become your affiliate. Give them a high commission percentage, the conversion report, the link to your site, banners, and the e-book or report you are selling.
If you do everything correctly, business owners will be more than happy to become your affiliate and practically do all the work of sending commissions your way.
In real estate there is a saying that property selling is all about “location, location, location.” In the world of internet marketing and ecommerce it’s all about “traffic, traffic, traffic.” It doesn’t matter what you’re product offering is or how nice your website looks, you’re doomed if you don’t have a plan to get traffic.
You need traffic to succeed in this business and the more traffic you can get the more money you will be able to make. The trouble is that many would be internet marketers simply don’t take the time to draw out a plan to get traffic. There are several ways to get traffic to your website that won’t cost you much of anything.
Trading links with other similar or related websites is a great way to increase the volume of traffic to your website. Generally speaking, the more reciprocal links a website contains the more authority is given to that website in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).
The higher the authority of your webpage, the more traffic you will receive. Most experienced webmasters understand the importance of exchanging links and are therefore more than eager to share links with other webmasters. You can actually find link exchanges all over the internet by performing a simple search. Most link exchanges are free to use although some do charge a small membership fee.
Blogs have become increasingly popular over the years and many internet surfers now only search for blogs when doing a search for information. Blogs have become popular because they are considered trusted sources of information, much more so than commercialized websites. Starting a blog related to the theme of your website will draw to your main website.
By far the best choice for your business blog is Wordpress which is free and can be installed directly into a sub directory within your website’s domain. Social bookmarking is all the rage right now and having a blog will allow you to more easily take advantage of social bookmarking traffic.
Online forums are great places to network and meet other people who share your common interests. What many people don’t know is that forums are also great places to bring targeted traffic to your website.
Before you can start using forums to pull in traffic to your website you’ll first have to find a forum that is relevant to the theme of your website. Most forums allow you to receive traffic by permitting you to use a signature file within each of your posts. Your signature file contains a link that directs people to your website. Like link exchanges and blogs, most forums a free to join.
Social bookmarking is the latest revolution to hit the internet marketing scene and if used correctly can dramatically increase your websites traffic. What makes social bookmarking such a great means of traffic generation is that getting your sites bookmarked doesn’t really cost a thing.
Unfortunately, because social bookmarking is freely available to just about anyone, it has become widely abused. Many social bookmarking sites are spammed by internet marketers looking to generate some quick traffic. Spamming the social bookmarking sites can easily result in the loss of your reputation and credibility.
Each submission you make to the social bookmarking sites needs to be carefully reviewed beforehand. Submitting articles laden with keywords is a common form of social bookmarking spam. Articles that are very dense with keywords have a tendency to not make sense. The articles and web pages you submit need to have real value to those who will end up reading them. It’s next to impossible for keyword dense content to be of much value to anyone other than the person who submitted it.
The keyword density of your content submissions should ideally be between 6%-8%. If you constantly submit high quality and informative content you will eventually receive a substantial flow of traffic. To make matters worse, Yahoo and Google hate spam and are taking great pains to eliminate junk content before it can be widely distributed.
Creating and mass submitting junk content may seem like a great way to get free traffic but in reality you are just wasting your time. The extra time spent on creating meaningful and user friendly content is well worth the investment of time.
Purchasing private label rights content is a great way for webmasters to leverage their time and outsource their content creation. The trouble is that private label rights content has a way of being viewed as duplicate content. Using duplicate content can get you into trouble with the search engines and can even lead to the impression that you are a spammer.
If you purchase content that is available for other webmasters to use, it is absolutely imperative that you rewrite the content somewhat before you use it as web content. If you are pressed for time then consider hiring an article rewriter who will usually rewrite content at the cost of about $2 an article.
If you have desperately been seeking a means of increasing your web presence but lack the funds necessary for professional SEO, then social bookmarking may be just what you are looking for. But because social bookmarking is freely available to anyone it is very easy to abuse. If you are going to use social bookmarking as part of your overall marketing strategy then you need to take the time to create quality content. After all, the last thing you want is to become seen as a spammer.
Social bookmarking is the latest trend in website marketing and promotion. Many internet marketers have become swept up in the social bookmarking craze in the hopes of producing more traffic for their websites. At present, there is a great deal of misconception regarding social bookmarking and many are not sure what exactly social bookmarking is and how it can help their business. For those new to the fast paced world of internet marketing, understanding what social bookmarking is and how it can improve their online marketing is essential.
Social bookmarking emerged a few years ago as a way for internet surfers to find, save, organize, and share their bookmarks of different web pages. Social bookmarking is an alternative to simple browser bookmarking because with social bookmarking you can share your bookmarks with other people who can in turn share their bookmarks with you.
Because you are constantly updating and sharing your bookmarks with other people you are in effect being social with others, hence the name social bookmarking. Bookmarks saved to a social bookmarking site can shared within a network of others or can even be kept private (which is more like anti-social bookmarking).
Compared to other automated resource classification software, social bookmarking actually has many advantages. The big difference between resource classification systems and social bookmarking sites is that social bookmarking sites are arranged by humans based upon how they understand and interact with the sites content. In contrast, resource allocation systems are arranged by computerized algorithms.
Therefore, the tags that are achieved with social bookmarking are much more semantic and systematic. Additionally, because humans are responsible for the bookmarking of sites, sites with more bookmarks are perceived as having more value than their highly ranked search engine counterparts.
As an internet marketer, social bookmarking allows your websites to get noticed without the need for costly search engine optimization. The more people who bookmark your website, the more perceived value your website will have and this ultimately translates into visitors to your website.
Perhaps the easiest way to start getting traffic from social bookmarking is by submitting your website to stumbleupon.com. StumbleUpon allows users who have downloaded their software into their browser to randomly explore websites based on their interests. By submitting your site to StumbleUpon you can actually start to receive traffic within just a few days.
The world of internet marketing is fiercely competitive and to truly succeed you need to have a competitive advantage over the other guy. Social bookmarking as a form of website promotion is free and can easily deliver avalanches of traffic to your websites. In other words, social bookmarking is quite possibly the competitive advantage you have been looking for.
The importance of having targeted traffic to your website cannot be over emphasised. Without traffic, your website is as good as dead.
No one will buy your products
No one will join your list
No one will click your Adsense ads
Your site will look like a graveyard.
To make money online, you simply have to attract targeted traffic to your website. That is the only way.
To attract targeted traffic can however cost big money. Cost of Adwords is skyrocketing day by day. You have to look for alternatives. Free ones precisely.
These simple traffic techniques below are free to use for anybody.
1. Post comments on blogs
Always visit other people’s blogs to place your comments. Whenever you receive a notification that a new post has been made, go there right away to post your comments.
Make sure you leave your website link behind. Leave useful comments and never in any way advertise your sire. Your comments will be deleted if you do.
The people that read your comments may click through to your websites if you leave great comments. Not only that, you will have lots of incoming links to your website which is good for your search engine rankings.
2. Sell your products on eBay
Ebay is a hotbed of shoppers. They’re already ready to buy. Simply put your product in front of them and you’ll get new sales.
Register for an account at eBay. You will start by registering for a buyer account then you can register for a seller account.
If your product is digital, you can write it on a CD to deliver so it gives your it more value.
These two traffic techniques are guaranteed to work. They are very simple to implement and can be done right away.
Don’t be deceived by the simplicity. They are brutally effective.
A few weeks ago, I attended a seminar which focused on Web 2.0 traffic generation strategies. As you can imagine, video was a big part of that.
I could go into how people are using video, but there are a million ways to do it. So for this post, I'm just going to show you one of the ways I am using it to drive traffic and get the word out about what I am doing. I'm also going to show you how to do it and give you an couple of easy options that won't require you to do so much as pick up a video camera.
A little about me...
I'm host of a syndicated radio show on the music business, so I'm in the studio a couple of times per week to interview people. As you can imagine, we have TONS of audio content.
Had a cheap video camera that I picked up to record dance lessons with, so I started taking it along to my radio interviews and doing video promos for the show. Like this...
The great thing about the camera I use is that it has a built-in USB port, which flips out. I just plug it into my computer and download the video clip. Easy.
I then send the raw clip to my assistant, who edits it and puts on the front and back using Windows Media Maker and Ulead Video Studio.
Don't have an assistant? This is a quick and easy job that you can hire out for few bucks via Scriptlance.
GOOD: It's not rocket science to submit everything on your own, but it will take some time.
BETTER: It's much easier to have somebody else do it. You can hire somebody for a few bucks via Scriptlance or, if you're in need of somebody fulltime, I recommend contacting Your Outsourcing Solution. You can get a fulltime person cheaper than you think, so I highly recommend considering that option.
BEST: Traffic Geyser is an automated system that will submit your videos to the top 35 sites as well as top social bookmarking services. My suggestion is to do this route and hire somebody for a few bucks via Scriptlance to run it for you.
What do do with audio content...
As I mentioned earlier, being in radio, we have a ton of audio content. Hours and hours of shows, outtakes, promos, and more. But until recently, we weren't doing anything with video...
You may be in a similar situation. Most people involved with marketing have audio recordings of teleconferences, presentations, or other material.
GOOD NEWS: Creating a video presentation of your audio with still images is a great way to make use of this content.
EVEN BETTER NEWS: Traffic Geyser, the submission service I mentioned above, will do this for you. Simply upload your audio, upload a few photos, and you're got a new "video" to help drive traffic and promote yourself.
More ways to create and use video...
It's so easy to join a site like 100articles.com, where you'll get 100 private label articles for $9, read the articles into some recording software, and then make a video slideshow. Traffic Geyser has a way for you to do it by phone. Easy.
Let me give you an example... Let's say you have an article on "satellite radio." You read the article into some recording software, so now you have an audio version of it, right? Then you attach some photos of satellite radios to it, so it's a slide show. You then upload that via Traffic Geyser so it goes out to the top 35 video sharing sites.
People search for "satellite radio" and one of your videos comes up. They watch the video, which then directs them to an affiliate link.
Easy money.
But it gets even easier. :)
Dr. Mike has this program where he makes these videos for you. He made me this video to attach to this article, which has some pretty impressive case studios and should give you some ideas on how you can use this approach to make more money with your online projects. So check out his site and let me know what you think below.
Hope this has helped you to come up with some new ideas on how you can use video. If it has, please click one of the links below to add this URL to Digg or another social bookmarking site.
One of the easiest ways to make money with articles is to get PLR articles, do an edit of them, and submit them to directories. Everything can be easily outsourced, so this won't take a lot of time.
